Day 2
let's call it:
"Sleepless Saturday."
Light after light
shines through
my eyelids.
Turn it off,
shut it out.
But it only
grows more
as the numbers
slither
through my window.
6
7
8
Quiet house,
roaring mind.
Watch me tiptoe
around the
deep sighs
and half-minded
mumblings.
Ignore the
darkened shades
that clutch
blue-green irises.
And the trembles
that follow.
One chord
for one thought;
a perfect exchange.
Each guitar lick
a syllable.
Each note
a word.
Only a whispering
moment.
We collide.
And again.
I grew braver.
You grew kinder.
Until we stopped
colliding at all.
