A day like Chardonnay
The day was bright and cool,
Sunshine sparkling on the rain-wet streets,
High clouds danced away
Across the high, blue sky
The sun, golden and vanilla
A day like chardonnay.
The night was warm and dark,
Firelight winking
Mysterious and red
Outside, the snow.
No place to go
No place we wish to go.
A night for games and chocolate
While the cold wind blows.
An evening like merlot.
