Day to Day

Sitting, nothing clear

An endless ocean, a sheet of blank words

Never knowing what next, never knowing anything but fear

That’s how it always is, like never knowing the right passwords

When does it make sense, the reasons for the universe

The time that passes with nothing really happening, just silence

No one even cares for the sunrise blinking as we wake and curse

Everyday the same tune being replayed in our minds, messing with an unknown balance

As you sit there and think of that little one, a real treasure

Smiling and running in the sunlight, nothing the matter

Back when the days weren’t long enough and the nights lasted forever

Back when a smile was easily found on one’s face, young mad hatter

Seemed the only time it was possible

When the sun could be seen through a person like no other

When the world was millions of miles below our feet, no line uncrossable

But those feelings were leaving, one after another
