Day Dreaming

What is a dream?

Other than an after thought

A safe haven from the turmoils of life

A reflection of what could have been

Or what could be

Is it

A goal, an ambition

The place your heart is always headed

Even when reality tells you it’s a dead end

Is it

A fleeting moment

Of ground breaking inspiration

The kind that keeps the world beating

And philosophers preaching

Or is it simply a succession

of involuntary emotions, ideas,

and sensations

locked away by our subconscious

The leftovers of a mind at rest
