The Day The Earth Stood Still

The day the earth stood still

Work, school, people still sleeping in bed

We heard the shouts, Oh God! a plane has crashed into a building in New York

Watching, mesmerized, the flames, the smoke, the pain, lives changed

The day the earth stood still

People! People! the plane, the plane, boom, flames, smoke, another plane has hit

No movement, silence, more pain, SHOCK!

The world stood up!

The day the earth stood still

Is this real?, No, not here in the land of the free and the home of the brave

Run, run, fast, faster

Slight feeling of relief, see them, NYFD, our countries brave to the rescue

The cheers of the world cry out! SOS

Crack, Crack, Boom a large plume of smoke

Crack, Crack, Boom a large plume of smoke rising high, high in the sky

Oh NO! Why!

The world stood united

The Day The Earth Stood Still
