The Day Has Come

Today I wait for help to come

I'm lying in this cage

With darkness overshadowing me

I need the help to set me free

I want to reach the sky.

I'm sitting here in this cage

crying several times a day

waiting for my cage to sway

and lift me in the sky.

I wait another lonesome day

screaming just to hear a sound

knowing that I'm still alive

So I can be set free.

I think todays my lucky day

A person comes and lifts me out

the darkness turns to light

And then I fly away.
