THE DAY I DIE 1

Death has become a friend For time is not on my side I’m not scared of dying But the day earth stands still Then will I be scared All I see in this world is anguish and languish And the fear of death The day I die I know within me I’ll be sent to the great beyond Oh how I wonder and imagine how adventurous it will be My spirit is home sick My body is tired But my soul is not As the day passes by So do humans Many have become even before me Many are still here even with me But go I must so that this process may continue But life as a teacher has taught me more than any other So cry not For I live on But not in this body but in the spirit Yes I will miss the touch of nature I will miss the touch of feelings And yes will I miss the touch of my enemies But not the touch of my heart Before the day I die There is only one thing I want to feel And there is only one thing I want to taste The ones I love For this I do no more I’m not scared of death But the day I see the tears of those I love, Then shall I be scared.
