The Day That I Died

I looked in the mirror at what I couldn’t hide Tears that poured from my heart breaking inside But I never noticed the tears that I cried For I could feel nothing the day that I died Looking through pictures, I had to confide The pain of the feelings that I had denied I tried to explain all the tears that I cried But I could do nothing the day that I died Seeing him standing there, hurting inside I stood frozen, silent, across the divide Stabbing a knife in my heart as I cried But I could feel nothing the day that I died Seeing their eyes as they questioned me, I’d Answer them truthfully, but I lied Wrapping myself in a cloak of my pride I could feel nothing the day that I died I looked in the mirror and now I decide Cleansing my heart with the tears I had cried Freeing myself from the bonds I had tied I’ve never been stronger than when I had died
