The Day I Dreamed a Dream

One day I dreamed a dream

That I could find my own place.

A place that would almost seem

To take me away from reality,

Somewhere almost imaginary.

That little girl that I was,

She was so hopeful.

She dreamed of life because

She knew that she had a chance.

She wouldn't let her life become

One of those with can'ts.

Her dream became more impossible

As her life became harder.

But she remembered that little girl.

The girl with so much ardor.

So the older girl worked

to make the dreams come true.

She knew it would be a challenge,

But she knew she could make it through.

A letter came one day

revealing great news.

She had finally found her way.

Nothing more could limit her view.

There are still challenges,

But nothing can take away

The happiness she has found

All along her way.
