THE DAY I MET DETH

I remember it like it was yesterday,

The day we were face to face.

I was mad and upset

Because I didn’t know you were there

I saw other cry and it made me mad,

I was enraged.

And so the sun came, and you never left

We were introduced for the first time,

I was upset,

I felt regret for the rage I felt

But I foolishly thought that I could go on with my day,

Like you weren’t there.

I sat down, and you stared me in the face.

My eyes gave up, and so I cried.

I could not understand why you were there,

Why so young, why so sudden.

I cried and I cried,

Till my eyes were red.

Blinking became painful, even unbearable

Life goes on, they say,

But the day I met you, you stole a day.

I’ve never cried so mush

I’ve never felt so much pain

And when I thought I was done,

Every word reminded me

That you were still there.
