The Day it Hit Me

Today is the day it all changed

I woke up with a different look on childhood

I wasn’t sure what this day had arranged

But I knew it was going to be good

It was my last day of my eighth grade school year

And we we’re saying goodbye to middle school

As I left the building one last time with a tear

I looked over the hill to the High School

I was a young middle schooler yesterday

My life was flashing past

Although I may be older today

I’m now a young adult at last
