The Day the Mountains Called my Name

I found my sense of happiness

The day the mountains called my name

They called me out of my darkness

And my life would ne’er be the same

There were clouds and birds in the air

And fertile green valleys below

But nothing could even compare

To the mountains’ soft golden glow.

On their slopes there was not one flaw

And their peaks were as white as snow

One could not help but be in awe

At this special and splendid show

Then suddenly I heard their voice

And was filled with humility

My heart soon started to rejoice

From this time of tranquility

I found my sense of happiness

And in me it will always stay

And now my heart sings with gladness

For the darkness has gone away
