The Day My World Changed

Doors open wide

Presented with two paths

Two different hallways

I chose the straight path

It seemed easier

Confronted by a stranger

I was turned away

My legs shaking

My heart pounding

I walked into an open room

At a small table

There sat a man

He smiled at me

I answered all the questions

I followed all the rules

I followed him blindly

Hoping that my prayers were heard

I walked away

Knowing that my life would be changed forever
