The Day is Near

Fear keeps us alive and going

The insecurities, regrets, mistakes

Could be overcome with one warm embrace;

It’s hard to forget and move on with the pain

With fear of it coming back

Falling in love with a new lad

May seem as the perfect option

But it’s temporary, it’s false, it’s wrong

You won’t find the love you’ve been searching all along

The fear of abandonment stays in your head

Knowing each face you see is temporary and rare

The love of your father won’t come from anyone else

As much as you try to substitute it well.

Feeling alone, getting hurt, seems so normal

What's wrong, what's right nobody can help you

Using substances to numb the pain wasn’t the right path

It only created a monster that can't feel you.

But once the sun rises, there comes a new day

One filled with new light, new love, a new way

Possibilities around, new memories to create

But until you love yourself nobody can either,

Self-love is the method I fight my fear

A daily battle I will always carry dear

But the day will come, I can feel it near

For my struggle, my pain, my fear of love to disappear
