Day & Night

you were my sunrise

my warm happy day

the sky under which children played

and people dreamed

they looked up at you and would see beauty

you were my purple orange red yellow sunset

wrapping me in your immense colors

but you were my sundown

my cold scary night

my pure black harsh sky

the sky under which people walked in fear

they looked up to you and pray for light

you were my day and night

emcompassing wonder and fear all in the span of a few hours

you were my day and night
