The day nothing and everything

The day nothing and everything made sense

It was just another day, or so we all thought

I could still hear the screams, the cries…the sirens

I woke up to my grandmother yelling, just couldn’t make out exactly why

I was just so confused

So scared and with no time to react I ran downstairs

Headed to the garage, still not making out what exactly grandma was yelling

My mom beat me to the garage door, which was not good at all

We saw my grandfather…lifeless..alone…and hanging

I could vividly picture it still in my head today, an image that has made itself comfortable in my mind

The image that has prevented me to enter the garage since

The image that makes me hurt and cry, and wonder exactly what was going through my grandfather’s mind

None of it made sense

Seeing my mother and grandmother fall apart was so terrible

I still remember my mother crying and begging me to pray to god to give her daddy life while the paramedics were in the garage trying to revive him

I walk into the garage and saw the noose hanging there while the paramedics were towering over my lifeless grandfather and my dad and brothers nearby crying

I can’t get that image out of my head
