Day One

I’ve heard you speak throughout the years

Sometimes through tears expressing fears

The truth is I’ve stood in my own way

Not standing strong besides our loves array

It doesn’t matter who did what to whom first

Because all its done has taken away from our thirst

Our strive to complete each other with love

Neglecting the precious gift when push came to shove

I don’t want to waste another moment in regret

But rather build memories we’ll never forget

Teaching time what it means to smile

Holding onto what is true every single mile

It’s easy to say let’s forget the past

Let’s learn from it if we want this relationship to last

There is no doubt I certainly do

Otherwise I’d never married you

We obviously have come a long way from that cold January night

And I’m still holding onto my love at first sight

Even more determine to make you smile daily

Especially since you never cease to amaze me fairly

That is not to say I won’t struggle at times with my self

But I know there is no other worth half your wealth

I only hope that each day I can make you feel that way

So let me be the lucky one to hold your love each day
