A Day At The Pool

I sit and lose myself in my own thoughts.

The sun beats down my neck as I watch o'er

The pool. Thinking today of what I've brought

with me for lunch, but soon I think no more.

 As my eyes close I know I must stay up.

I snap awake and sit up straight and stretch

Just to make sure. I drink right from my cup

The dry water, and continue to watch.

Just when my eyes can stare no more, a splash

Sets up the scene. Slowly; sinking; downward;

I know what I must do. I too must splash

Into the pool; I keep swimming forward.

I dive on down to complete my mission.

The catch of the day, almost like fishin'.
