The Day Poseidon's Ocean Died

Humans plagued and destroyed the earth--

the earth the gods had given them.

The damage was far beyond rebirth.

For that, a god they did condem.

The ocean waited as she begged for help.

Pollution drowned out her sorrow.

As microplastics outnumbered the supply of kelp,

the ocean knew she had no tommorow.

The sea god waited for his story to end

while his brother Hades watched with glee.

For the earth was far too broken to mend

and the humans endangered themselves in a killing spree.

The world suffered and cried

on the day Poseidon's ocean died.
