A Day Too Late

A day too late, Did she make it there, To see her sister, Before she went away. Knowing her sister, Who lived in the states, Flew out to be there, For the last hours of her life, Brought happiness to her suffering, But happiness couldn't rid her of the Cancer that dwelled inside of her. Just an hour away, Did they say, Her sister passed away. In the wedding dress she never wore, Did they put her in the ground, To spend eternity, When the chance to wear it, Was stolen from her. A day too late, An hour too late, A minute too late, Did she make it there, To see her sister one last time.
