Day Turns to Night

On the outside, you are light.

Light as bright as the sun.

You brighten everyone's day,

But no one's more than my own.

Yet, on the inside,

There is a darkness seeping in.

One lonely and sad.

You try to hide it,

But I can see it in your eyes.

And the light around you,

It slowly dies.

But because I love you,

I will never leave.

I will try to be your light,

And not let the darkness seize.

Lean on me as I have leaned on you.

One day your light will return.

Yet, until then I will never turn.

You may be darkness for now, but I am light.

For together we are day and night.

For what is day without a little shade?

What is night without the stars?

We have eachother,

And that will never change.
