A Day Without Rain

Dylan Thomas told me

To not go gentle into night.

I could feel each line

Like they lifted from the page.

Most days I would whine

As an adolescence full of rage.

Little had I heard

Of a day without rain.

He told me to fight death,

To try with all my might.

I could finally catch my breath,

And gained new sight.

I learned to find the light

When surrounded by night.
