The Daydreamer

I am the girl at the back of the classroom my hair tucked behind my ears Listening to the teacher drone on about something I start to draw… not really draw, just the doodles I can manage My mind takes place in a fantasy where I can do anything, I can fly, travel back into space, read minds My pen covers the place where my notes should be but I’m too warped up in the endless possibilities all outside the classroom of things I can achieve The sound of the bell rings I hurry away into the sea of mindless texters and herds of popular kids I keep my books hugged against my chest so I can be on time I grab my notebook when I sit and it all starts again- my mind wonders My imagination taking place of the reality I am in I am the daydreamer
