Daydreaming

The why
Is why
O why o why
Am I still I
Not me
But a person who
Is still yet to be
The sun still sets behind the sky
But it never changes
It never dies
Behind the clouds
Still shines the stars
But they are so far
So far behind
She thinks without her mind
Skies of gray
All fly away
What a shame
All the people passing by
Not a hello for you or for I
And the dreams that you dare
To think of in the day,
 Are poems in the air
They drift away to be true
If only for me
If only for you
Why, Why can't I
Be the dreams
What a wonderful lie
I know babies crying
Their mothers sighing
They sing till they sleep
Their dreams of the people
Still counting sheep
