Daydreaming

Love has sewn fear into me

But your smile tears it all up

You’ve opened my heart

Please don’t leave me to bleed

Now you lie next to me

Stitching new patterns into me

My hands running through your messy,

Dirty-blonde hair, your smirk

And your eyes sparkle, your lips

Ready to spoil my face with kisses

Your eyelashes flutter closed

I breathe you in, my unbreakable smile

Whispers between us do not stray;

They slip into the pocket over my heart

I feel your hands slide to my waist

As I softly pull your face closer

I can nearly taste your lips; feel your skin

I want to melt into you; all I want

Is this

Her hand waves in my sight;

Tearing me from my fantasy

I am still sewn tight;

Held down by my terror
