Of Days to Come
I often dream of days to come,
Of days that I will help others.
Only we can help ourselves,
I’ll take the job without bitter.
But first comes days of stress,
Days filled with tears and frustration.
Graying hairs and grime messes,
And selfish crys of “I’m done!”
Constant studying and cramming,
No end to be seen in sight.
But the goal I will tightly cling,
I’ll get to it with all my might.
I have overcome hard trials,
But there’s so much more to be done,
Perhaps it is time to hightail,
In the end, I still haven’t won.
However I still want to help,
Help those in the future with health.
I’ll stay even if I have to yelp,
Because this is for the commonwealth.
I often dream of days to come,
Days that are here now for us all.
This day I become a doctor,
Happily forever after.
