THE DAYS OF UPS AND DOWN
POEM BY; ALICK MUSHEKWA®
*THE DAYS OF UPS AND DOWN*
The world has been turned ups and down; nothing seems to be normal life has changed in village and in town
Silence has blanketed the cities noted for productive noise; police cases have alleviated due to no offensive behaviors perpetrated
I remember life back then was so sweet; we had all the moments, but yet we couldn't preserve some
Those days I enjoyed before the pandemic brought its insanity to reality;
With the very first smile of every bewitchingly magnificent dawn; the very first thing that the frosty waters of the sea unrelentingly prayed for; was rhapsodically myseterious undulations; all throughout the tenure of the handsomely
charismatic day,
The question is who is going to save the universe? Moments we only wish to reverse to those days;
With the very first enlightening of every marvelously exotic dawn; the very first thing that the compassionately moistened leaves of the forest immutably prayed for; was enthrallingly timeless and vivacious adventure; all throughout the tenure of
the unfathomably mesmerizing day
Streams have dried up for we have no where to go apart from exploring our homes; welcome to part two of this world where things have been turned ups and down
Corona doesn't respect guns and atomic bombs; as said the unseen things are the most greatest things
A microscope which is usually abandoned in times of wars; today it is being used in the unpredictable war
Labs in Africa turned into homes for spiders; webs constructed in the corners expressed development and link
However, with corona virus the minds have been introduced in a clean world for them to observe mental hygiene
The unprecedented situation has helped Africa to go the way they can never imagine
The greatest difference before and in time of covid nineteen is the hygienic society exhibited in the margin
Soldiers and commandos have become useless in the eyes of corona; it doesn't understand the language of guns
Everyone has been forced to take precautions no matter the stubbornness; corona pandemic can only understand the bans
With the love for money in Africa; individuals of a pigged mind what to monopolize the donations to preserve for future generations
Generations are their children not the posterity of the country; what baffles a famer is a tree growing with a weird branch
What kind of brains were put in some Africans? Africa is so rich indeed resources we have for the people in need
Advices from a stranger is of no different from the one advising you to go for street vending, when themselves go in offices to dozy and wait for salary at month end
With glimpse of faith remaining in our hearts; we pray for that day we will be free from the collapsing path
Having financially crippled pockets, hope lies in buying cheap things from china; however, corona has narrowed the path
Everyone is worried about living the unknown tomorrow; we are all traped in fear of dying and going through that narrow path
The assurance is in the scientific circles to manufacture an effective vaccine; the front line workers are busy dilating the vessels of life to widen the path
Churches have been ban across the world; receiving the word of God in homes has become the normal way of worshiping to create a salvation path
Students are no where to be seen on campuses; they all have come back from school because of the shrinking path
Our hopes lies in God whom we serve
Don't worry our lives God shall preserve
Our blessings are in reserve, in due time we shall be free as we deserve
Stay home, stay safe!
