Days to Years

Days to Weeks

Weeks to Months

Months to Years

The time speeds by

Regrets seep into my skin

Of all I should have said

From the days of confusion and numbness

Where I sat in wonder

Of what I had done

The time I hadn’t an idea as to why you left

To the weeks of acknowledgement and curiosity

I wonder what I could have done to fix

The thing I had broken

Before I can fix it

I have to realized that I am the reason you left

The words that come to my head aren’t enough

They don’t even begin to describe the way

That I am sorry

To the recent months of ice and solitude

The frozen chunks of my mind and heart

They bite at both myself

And everyone who I came in contact with

From the months of isolation and emptiness

I know now how it feels to be completely alone

Even in my own head

I leave myself alone

I wander off to some distant part of my mind

To the years of self-loathing and repair

After I was alone

I hated myself

With what I had done

Who I had hurt

I didn’t  want to me around me either

It was only when I realized

Me hurting myself

Isn’t just hurting myself

Though I didn’t deserve it

People still cared for me

They wanted me to become my old self

Once more
