dazed days

There's so many reasons

as to why i fight the urge

to come back to you.

I'm always left wondering

when all of it changed,

the moment you saw me in a different light.

and yet now you're on my doorsteps

pleading i give you my heart back.

truth is, its already been yours.

i'll treat my words to hit like a gunshot

so maybe you'd take my heart seriously

hoping you might see a glimpse of what i gave to you.

I always look in the mirror wondering when

i'll stop sacrificing myself

to people who burn all my bridges down.

I've been sleepless the past few nights,

tossing and turning over you.

the scent of your cologne on my sheets.

I open the door once more

remove the fragile lock.

the sun will rise

and i still hope

that we can try again.
