The volume is being turned up

I listen as my mom stumbles out of bed

Into the shower she goes

I hear the switching around from my pup

My eyes open and I roll onto my floor

I crave the coffee I will be getting soon

My mom jumps out of the shower

As she dresses upstairs I wait by the backdoor

Saturday mornings smell like Dunkin coffee

More specifically

A medium caramel iced coffee cream and sugar

The workers know the order just for me

I couldn't live without these Saturdays

I love my mom and I love coffee

I won't get to live like this at college

I wish I was able to call this coffee addiction a phase
