Dead Dreams

Expecting the most voluminous detail in an effortless act Building up, hoping, and imaging the perfect situation Floating on a mesmerizing playback Words Thoughts Ideas Lingering and Lingering and Lingering and Lingering On and on and on, until the time hits too late and the read numbers on the clock shoot you. In a deep rendering hole, feeling left behind Forgotten in a past that was supposed to feel relived. Hopeless the feeling afterward Broken from the drifting cloud that fades to rain Lightly falling, as if it were fighting gravity Questioning the laws of Newton The laws of mankind The lost of mankind The distractedness of concentrating minds… Rendering and Facings and Hiding, and Fighting Hopeless is the world at the view of the broken dream Slit in two, thousands of pieces on both sides Laying in the ground and overtime decaying, rotting, feeding the drowning Fungus Feeding the thought that never became The thought that never was The thought that brought life The dreadful Death Slowly eating Slowly growing Slowly gaining the empty spaces left of hope Penetrating itself like a virus Filling that world [slowly] That sick disgusted world that Had hope That Had life All due to the multitude of broken hopes Of broken dreams Of Complete people that never realize the depth of an action so deep So deep So deep, to someone stitched and taped together And to think it all starts with a Dream A wonderful fantasy of a Dream that becomes tainted Fucked. In ways unbearable To quickly fall in multitudes The Wonderful Dream that lays forever asleep in a ground of dirt and spit. A Dead Dream. A Dream that was fertilized but never Born A Dream that Was Alive, but did not Live. -JSG

This is one of my favorite poems that I have written. It was at a point in my life were giving up was the only choice that had a light over it. However, no I realized and choose the other chooses behind the clouds.
