Dead but Walking

Eyes that burn

With the darkest sadness

Just one look’s enough to make you turn

Away with all that badness.

A hollow, hopeless face

As if it had all been taken

But no hope comes from any place.

You watch and hope they reawaken,

But it’s too late.

They’ve arrived at their destination.

Preparing to meet their fate

Doesn’t take long with no sensation.

Jump because there’s nothing there blocking.

That’s how it ends when you’re dead but walking.
