Dear 2012

Thank you. You gave me hope, strength, love, and pain. Every experience held something for me to gain. I learned who loves me, and that I matter. We all have worth, even when life's a scatter. People will come, and people will go. The important ones always return though. Happiness comes when we least expect it, and the people who love you give you space, but don't always respect it… Only give love when it's true… because not everyone deserves it from you. Love yourself before you love anyone else… that way, when others retire, your heart won't expire. I learned that family and blood don't go hand in hand and it's okay to fight and take a stand, because those who care, will always be there. Reality is harsh, but there's always something to take away. Give and rebirth, knowledge, never throw it away. School is hard, but life's the real test. Always preaching "Do your best", but on this treacherous conquest I find myself searching for a life vest hoping to save what's left, of me, my heart, and my humanity… every new year is a new testament, "Starting over", "new year new me", but honestly I've come to accept this is who I was meant to be, every breathe and step i take, leaving traces of a sad, shy girl, turned mad, spry girl Step after step , year after year painting my path, facing my fears... dearest 2012, thank you... 2013..maybe next year I'll thank you too.
