Dear Absence

Dear Absence,

I feen for it like a crack addict cause it’s all I know.

My last high seems to always become my next high.

Never days that Ima let it slide by. Sold my inner conviction for a hollowed devalued lifestyle.

Ask me if I have issues and I will tell you no.

Lies!

Ask me if I have regrets and I will tell you no.

More Lies!

Ask me what you want, I will only tickle your ear with what you wanna hear.

The root cause of my camouflaged life stems from the absence

The absence of a person who’s supposed to be the embodiment of love and protection.

A person who’s supposed to refine me through the fire and show me my true worth.

A person who is supposed to be my Batman in this Gotham city that we survive in.

Like Shrek, I was looking for my Fiona, but he seemed so far far away.

So I numb the pain with the hallowed pleasures of the boys I meet.

Tangled in a poisonous web

Every toxic venom from its sting is a lost forgotten memory of my true identity.

So go ahead, ask me if I have issues, and I will still tell you no.

Ask me if I have regrets and.i.will.still.tell.you.no.

Sincerely,

Self
