Dear Administration

Having the wrong shirt on

does not make me any dumber

The headband in my hair

doesn't take away my focus

The type of shoes I wear

will not affect my learning

Holding me for tardiness

only loses me more time

Hall sweeps and detentions

will not make me drive faster

if it happens to be raining

or I live far away

You're wagging your scornful finger

in the wrong direction

You seem to be losing sight

of what's important at hand

Our youth are all in correct uniform

and don't know who Nelson Mandela was

They have on the right shoes

and can't point to Canada on a map

We are upholding the image of your school

as our intelligence steadily plummets.
