Dear Adversity

Dear Adversity,

Hello, we meet again,

You attempt to bring hopelessness, fears, and doubts.

You attempt to kill dreams.

You are once again up to your destructive schemes.

But remember that one Guy that has your neck by His foot,

You know, the One that you read about in those 66 famous books.

The Bible,

Philippians 4:13 said it best.

Dear Adversity, you are just another test,

That I will pass with flying colors.

Faith and Perseverance are my credentials.

My work ethic is essential.

In the past, you thought you had me beat,

But I prevailed.

In Him, I can celebrate sweet victory in your defeat.

God has given me ammunition,

To fight your despicable repetitions,

To break me and to bring me down.

You must not know who my Father is.

Because He is the One that wears the glorious crown,

Not you.

Dear Adversity,

I am here to tell you, that you do not scare me.
