"Dear Apparition"

I frantically run through the crowd of people Hoping to embrace the fading apparition The adrenaline shoots through my veins Creating a euphoric, electrifying feeling. The overwhelming anticipation devours fear from crawling within to ease my insanity. Halting in a moment of distraction, As a small child stares at me with bulging eyes, he gently smiles and as if time has no limitations, he calmly offers me a bright crimson balloon. For that brief moment I watch the balloon escape the child's hand And into the never ending universe of unexplainable mysteries. I indulge my thoughts with concepts of reality and phenomenon. Consciousness seeps through the cracks At that last moment his smile dwindles, becoming an intangible blur. I pray my words stick to the inside of his lifeless throat, Dear apparition,"Concede to His almighty power so you may drift into forever happiness and become a guardian to all who are lost."
