Dear Big Brother
Dear Big Brother,
Do you think about it?
The pain you cause each time you take another pill?
Of course you don't. For you it's only the now. The temporary high and the momentary escape from reality you get.
You don't have to see the effects of your actions.
You don't see mom cry almost daily over what you're doing to your life.
You don't feel the embarassment of having to tell relatives and friends that my brother has lost yet another job.
You don't feel the worry of our sister wondering if her brother will make it to her wedding.
You don't understand the stress dad deals with as your bills pile up at our house for more and more damage you have caused.
Do you think about it?
How taking even one single pill has a chain reaction and your life isn't the only one you're destroying.
If you won't stop for us, will you stop for yourself? I'm sure this isn't the life you dreamed of having.
I know it's not what I dream for you.
Love,
Lauren
