Dear Black Girl

Dear black girl you may deny your race

Every morning you wake up and hate the look of your face

Young black girl you should love your skin

Stop putting on all of that makeup that doesn't blend

Dear black girl you may deny your features

Embrace the stride of your legs, the plumpness of your lips, and your thick natural hair

Don't hate yourself because the world only sees you when you have on wigs

Be a carefree independent woman and forget those hating people!

Dear black girl you may deny the power in your voice

Use your voice and don't let them consider you another angry black woman!

Take pride in yourself, love yourself, and embrace who you are!

Dear black girl don't deny your race
