Dear body

Dear body, I don’t hate you for what you look like, I hate you for what you are.  I am sorry that I put upon you a negative ideal but you are insatiable. If only you belonged to someone else, they could shower you with the care and undeniable love you deserve. However, I am not that person. I am but a drifter, using your shape temporarily until I make it my own. You are lucky you are not paper, because if you were, I would have cut you with scissors into a desirable shape long ago. Though in the coming years I will learn to love and appreciate you, for now you are static noise in my ears; something that causes me great discomfort and unhappiness. I am older now, an adult almost, and I now have the power to mold you into what you are supposed to be. It is my choice to look how I wish to, although the crescendo of protests have increased the older I have gotten. But, In the great scheme of things, you are mine and I am yours, and we shall never separate for you are my body and we are one.I have learned now, that I must cease hating you for what you are not and make you into something that I can, and will, love.
                                                                                                                                                 Sincerely, me
