Dear Books...

Dear Books,

For years you've been there, tolerating.

Patiently you sat awaiting

I delved into stories exhilerating

With words that were reverberating

Within me

The world could be so isolating

Alone I stayed, self-deprecating

When I found you, so liberating

The world was much less suffocating

While I read

But now my life is enervating

There's no more time for speculating

My free time is disintegrating

I wish that time was hesitating

So I could read again
