Dear Books

With your story

you inspired me to open up my mind

and fill it with ideas that have no limit

With your pages

you encourage me to dream of new worlds

where there are endless possibilities

With your characters

you taught me to not wait around for prince charming,

to climb down the tower yourself

or tear it apart brick by brick

until you become your own hero

With your sentences

you helped me get through some of the hardest days of my life

With your words

you’ve showed me

how to laugh,

how to cry,

how to smile,

how to accept,

how to reject,

and most importantly

how to love myself and the world around me.

- To all the books I have read and to the ones I will soon read
