Dear Bright MoonHigh above the

Dear Bright Moon

High above the trees

Out of reach of the skyscrapers

Not Subject to the breeze

I want to be like you some day!

Bright and round and full

Filling up the darkness with your silvery glow

Inspiring songs and rhymes and poetry

And coloring the earth below

Night would be a duller time

A sullen sultry waste

If it were not for your bright glowing face!

And best of all you say not a word

For the most majestic of things need not be heard.

My rhymes though poor

They stem from the heart

And with great reverence I say,

Dear Bright Moon

For lighting up our way.
