Dear Confidence

Dear confidence,

In every person I see the gift you never granted me.

The gift where you hold your head up high despite the struggles in the air.

The gift where crying was excepted no matter who was there.

You granted every being, with the ability to stand strong,

despite the want to fall.

The ability to laugh at themselves because they didn’t care,

it’s all jokes and laughs when you’re there.

But yet you didn’t grant me,

the one gift I wish to receive.

I wish to stand tall,

above all my insecurities,

and conquer adversity.

But you are never within me.

Please confidence,

stay near me,

it’s no longer a want.

It’s a need.
