Dear Dad

Dear Dad,

I never thought I’d be writing you.

Dear Dad,

I never thought you’d be gone.

Dear Dad,

There was so much left for us to say.

Dear Dad,

There was so much more to be done.

Dear Dad,

I hadn’t spoken to you in years.

Dear Dad,

I never thought I’d ever want to.

Dear Dad,

I realize now my mind is teeming with unspoken’s.

Dear Dad,

I wanted to prove you wrong.

Dear Dad,

I wanted to prove you right.

Dear Dad,

I wanted to show that I was strong.

Dear Dad,

I wanted to think I didn’t need you.

Dear Dad,

You’re gone.

Dear Dad,

There’s so much I want to say.

Dear Dad,

My whole life you filled with disappointment.

Dear Dad,

And when you left, I was disappointed.

Dear Dad,

You broke another promise.

Dear Dad,

You didn’t live up to your word.

Dear Dad,

You left me dry and broken.

Dear Dad,

Signed, your little girl.
