Dear Dad

Dear Dad,

My life has gone up in flames

Literally

I lost you in june

To that incurable disease

Cancer

We lost the house in october

To the stupid Tubbs fire

Literal flames

What do I do?

I need you,

Mom needs you,

Even piper.

I’ve lost my best friend,

YOU

And all the belonging that remind me of you.

The jeep we built together

It’s nothing but a pile of rust

Your truck we drove everywhere in

Is now covered in dust

From the dirt road we live on now

How am I supposed to go about

The guns we use to shoot together are toasted

The basketball hoop we use to play with isn’t even roasted

Im thankful you didn’t see the house burn in the rear view mirror like I did
