Dear Dad
What to say to you,
You loved money more than what it is worth,
Your losses drilled holes in the home,
I felt like a burden because of my birth,
Mom never liked the smell that lingered on you,
You kept buying more chips,
Mom huffed and she cried,
You never stuck to the script,
When she finally had enough,
I thought you would change,
I thought,
You left until you were out of range,
But before then: you stumbled into my room,
To bid your goodbye,
I said “okay”,
I wish I said goodbye.
