Dear Dad

That cold December night that I can barely remember.

You yelled at me and i just rolled my eyes and kept watching HairSpray.

You went out to do by yourself not knowing that we would never see you again.

We were supposed to decorate for Christmas that night.

We had supper ready and patiently waiting for you to come in.

Two hours passed and we were getting worried about you. You've never been out this late by yourself.

Faith and Johnny went out to look for you and eventually found you.

Alone on that cold December night. Never knowing we would never see you again.

We couldn't believe that you were gone. I couldn't simply believe that you were gone.

I can't stop but think that our last words weren't good. I still beat myself up for that because you should always be kind with people you love.

Fast forward to a year later.

I still think that you will walk through the door and tell me about your day. And i can tell you about my day and everything.

But I can't because although you're not here physically. You always know what's up.

Thanks for teaching me useless information for the last 16 years.

Your daughter

Katherine
