Dear Daddy

My daddy was a preacher He back slid from his faith He stopped serving God And went his own way The crack pipes became his pool pits He would pray to the drug dealing gods for just one more hit No more sermons on Sundays Because he was having crack pipe holidays Fiends would become his congregation But he wasn't preaching salvation He was too busy inhaling crack pipe air just like them Excepting crack pipe offerings they gave to him I often wondered what went wrong How did daddy end up singing Satan’s national anthem song I mean how you can go from being a bible tolling preacher To a, crack pipe teacher Teacher I say because you teaching people Satan’s way You went from teaching bible class To teaching crack class Showing new comers how to put yellow crumbs in a pipe glass You strung out on that girl cracklena You chasing her into back alleys and up and down street You haven't seen your wife and kids in like three weeks Because you been worshiping that cracklena's feet's She got you chasing a high that died after the first hit A high that will never again exist But you can't quit You in so deep and you so scared because you having irregular heart beats While you getting high you praying for God's mercy You praying that you won’t OD You praying that you won’t have a heart attack You praying that God just won’t turn his back The sun doesn't even look bright anymore You’re afraid you might not even make it to 44 The truth is God can let you live So you daddy can repent of your sins He can call you out of darkness He can pull you from the lion's mouth And every mistake you have made God can wash you out The decision is yours You can walk through those church doors Christ died to set you free Your future is not to become an internal junkie I know my prayers won’t go in vain God will release you from drug addict lane
