Dear Daddy
Dear daddy your little girl isn't doing too good
I let the world change me.
Daddy I should've listened.
I let the world impact my happiness.
I let the bruises from your hands impact more than my skin.
What have I done?
Daddy I miss you so much
I'm so sorry I fell so hard without you
I thought I could make it.
I thought I could pretend.
Those long nights of screaming.
Those long nights of fighting.
Those long nights of beating.
I thought I could pretend they didn't happen.
I slipped too many times.
Daddy I don't want to go on
I thought you were my hardest trial.
I was so wrong.
Daddy I can't do this alone.
Forever wishing I could give up
But Daddy I know that would kill you
And the only thing worse than killing me is killing you.
Now I have grown up.
I have found what I love in this world
And I did it without you.
Reality hit me harder than you ever did.
The bruises on my skin are only physcial representations
Of the ones on my heart and mind.
I can still conquer mountains and cross oceans.
I do not need another person to determine my happiness
I am a daddy's girl without a daddy.
Daddy, you broke me.
But Daddy, I fixed me.
